Wild Labs in conjunction with partners are leading an experimental, venture based approach to concepting, developing and launching a range of creative interventions to accelerate ocean literacy in UK culture.
After a phase of network research and discovery we are beginning a rapid design phase of the process and are inviting participation from a range of creative and conservation disciplines to imagine and prototype creative concepts with potential to increase ocean literacy.
These concepts could range from learning products, creative content, events, experiences and activations. The design experience itself will also create other outcomes - cross sector learnings, individual learnings, new relationships and perspectives.
Following this sprint phase we aim to develop and activate a number of concepts which emerge through this process. We won’t know which of these concepts to progress until the end of April 2018 at the latest.
These might be activated through partner networks, they may be with other funders or organisations, brand partners and ventures. They will be collabs, that is for sure.
By taking part in the Wild Labs sprint, all participants are contributing their ideas into this approach and agree to the terms.
If a concept progresses into development, the originator(s) will be invited to contribute to the next phase. Whether this is further prototyping or production itself the involvement will be dependant on the originator(s) having the skills needed to progress the concept, being available and up for it, on terms that work for all parties and willing to work with Wild Labs direction.
Any idea that is developed and activated where the originator(s) cannot participate in the activation will reference the idea originator(s) in any credits.
Likewise we are keen to see all ideas that come through the process set free into the world. So any concepts that we cannot take into next phase we welcome any contributor to progress them, all we ask in return is that you keep us informed and credit Wild Labs role in its creation where appropriate.
We will reimburse reasonable travel expenses to and from the sprint, so that you are not out of pocket to participate.
Your creativity is helping to increase ocean literacy in the UK. For the Ocean.
